Raising Money and Awareness to Support Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Programs
The Ringer Runner Benefit was created in 2016 in response to the loss of our friend, father and husband Joseph Ringhoffer. Joe was an avid runner, a resident of Chester Springs, an alumnus of Penn State University, and a victim of suicide.
Proceeds raised by Ringer Run Benefit contribute to local and regional suicide prevention and mental health awareness programs. In 2016 the Joseph J Ringhoffer Memorial Fund was created to support the Penn State Student Affairs Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and psychological and psychiatric evaluations for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as prevention and consultation services for the University community.
Through education and awareness, cooperation with local and regional stakeholders, and fundraising and fund allocation, the benefit strives to make a positive and significant impact in the community to prevent suicide and help those in need of mental heath services.
